Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Chelsea are reported to have failed in a bid for Burak Yilmaz.
Chelsea have failed with a £21 million bid for Galatasaray’s in-form Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz, according to talkSPORT.
Yilmaz has been in sensational form so far this season and has scored 25 goals in 31 games for Galatasaray following his move from Trabzonspor last summer.
It seems his form has not gone unnoticed in England with talkSPORT claiming both Chelsea and Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on him this season and it appears that the Blues have made the first move to try and lure him to the Premier League this summer.
The report suggests that Galatasaray have rejected a £21 million offer for the 27-year-old from the west Londoners, with the Turkish giants understood to be holding out for £33m for the hitman, who still has three years to run on his current contract.

A striker could be high on Chelsea’s priority list this summer with Fernando Torres continuing to struggle in front of goal and Demba Ba only scoring 4 goals in 14 appearances following his January move from Newcastle, but it seems the Blues will have to dig deep if their to lure the free-scoring Yilmaz away from Turkey.
