Wenger Tipped To Renew Interest In French Striker
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is being tipped to renew his interest in French striker Loic Remy once Queens Park Ranger’s relegation to the Championship is confirmed
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are linked with Loic Remy.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is being tipped to renew his interest in French striker Loic Remy once Queens Park Ranger’s relegation to the Championship is confirmed, according to the Mirror.
The report claims Wenger was interested in signing the 26-year-old from Marseille in January but pulled out due to concerns over his injury record.
Remy ended up signing for QPR and has settled into life in the Premier League well, netting 5 goals in just 7 games. However, it doesn’t look like his goals will be enough to keep the west Londoners in the top flight with Harry Redknapp’s men seven points from safety and destined for the drop this season following yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Wigan.
The Mirror claim that Arsene Wenger is planning a summer spending spree at the Emirates and will make a £6m move for Remy at the end of the season, with the France international understood to have a relegation release clause inserted into his current contract.
The newspaper also suggests that the boss will make a £30m move for Stefan Jovetic and target a powerful midfielder to replace the injured Abou Diaby.

I must admit I’ve been hugely impressed with how Remy has settled in the Premiership. He’s playing for a club battling relegation in a new league and has still managed to score an impressive 5 goals in 7 games. His goal on Sunday against Wigan was world class and he’d give us something different up front.
If we could snap him up for just £6m, then I think it would be a great signing, but let’s see what happens in the summer.
