Chelsea Face Fight With Madrid To Land Hot-Shot Striker
Chelsea will have to see off stiff competition to land Burak Yilmaz after the players agent confirmed Atletico Madrid are interested in the Galatasaray striker
Despite the transfer window being closed and the title almost certainly heading back to Old Trafford, there is still no shortage of football news as the season reaches its climax. Today we focus on the latest transfer gossip and it seems Chelsea face a fight to land Burak Yilmaz.
It seems Chelsea will have to see off stiff competition from Spain to land Burak Yilmaz this summer after the players agent confirmed Atletico Madrid are interested in the Galatasaray striker, according to talkSPORT.
The Turkish hitman moved to Galatasaray just last summer from Trabzonspor and has been a huge hit at the Türk Telekom Arena, scoring 26 goals in his 31 appearances so far including an impressive 8 goals in the Champions League to help Gala reach the quarter final stages.
talkSPORT claim Chelsea have had a recent £21m offer for the 27-year-old rejected and it seems the west Londoners are going to have to fend off interest from Atletico Madrid if they’re to lure the powerful forward to Stamford Bridge.
The players agent, Ali Egesel, has revealed that Yilmaz has been made aware of the La Liga side’s interest and has already spoken to Turkish team mate and current Atletico Madrid midfielder, Arda Turn, about life at the Spanish club:
“Burak knows that Atletico play in a major league and are interested,”
“He has talked a lot with [Turkey team-mate] Arda Turan about the club and has only heard positive things.
“For him, La Liga is the best league in the world and Atletico is one of the big three clubs.” Egesel is quoted as saying by talkSPORT

Another striker could be on the cards for Chelsea this summer and there aren’t many potential targets who’re in better form this season than Yilmaz. Some may claim that if Atletico Madrid are looking to sign the Turkish forward, then that could mean Radamel Falcao is on his way out – which could actually work out in Chelsea’s favour. But we’ll have to wait and see how this all works out in the summer.
