Arsenal welcome Norwich City to the Emirates on Saturday afternoon looking to go third in the Premier League table.

The Gunners currently sit fifth but can leapfrog Chelsea and Tottenham with all three points against the Cannaries as both of their rivals don’t play a league fixture this weekend.

Ahead of the game, boss Arsene Wenger has given Arsenal.com a team news and injury update with the latest on Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Tomas Rosicky.

Wilshere has not featured since picking up an ankle problem during a 2-1 loss at Spurs back in early March but the boss has confirmed he returned to full training on Wednesday and has a 90% chance of playing this weekend. Walcott has missed the last two games with a groin problem collected while away with the England squad last month but he too is due back in full training on Thursday and is also in line to face Norwich on Saturday.

The bad news is that the in-form Rosicky could miss out after picking up a hamstring injury and defender Per Mertesacker is suspended after being sent off against West Brom last time out. Here’s what Wenger told the clubs official website:

on Wilshere and Walcott…

Jack has joined normal training since Wednesday and Theo should join in tomorrow. They are 90 per cent available for Saturday.

on other team news…

The other uncertainty we have from last Saturday is Tomas Rosicky, who has a little hamstring irritation. His involvement is yet to be decided as well but it’s fair to say that he is a big doubt for Saturday. And of course, Per Mertesacker will be out because of his red card.

It will be a huge boost to have Wilshere and Walcott back in contention and if Rosicky misses out, it means Jack can simply come straight in and replace the injured Czech midfielder. Although I think we’ll miss Rosicky’s presence as he’s added something different to our midfield dynamic in recent games.

Thomas Vermaelen will come in for Mertesacker at the back and it will be interesting to see who Wenger plays against Everton on Tuesday if the Belgian puts in a positive performance this weekend.
