Cesc Fabregas Responds To Arsenal Move Reports
Cesc Fabregas has responded to rumours claiming he’s unsettled at Barcelona and could return to Arsenal this season by saying only he knows what his future holds
Despite the transfer window being closed there is still plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Cesc Fabregas has responded to rumours suggesting he could return to Arsenal.
Cesc Fabregas has responded to rumours claiming he’s unsettled at Barcelona and could return to Arsenal this summer by saying only he knows what his future holds, according to Sky Sports News.
Fabregas ended an eight-year stay at Arsenal when he returned ‘home’ to Catalonia in the summer of 2011, fulfilling his dream of playing for his boyhood club. However, his time at the Nou Camp hasn’t exactly gone to plan, with the 25-year-old struggling to hold down a first team place in Tito Vilanova’s side and is regularly played out of position when he does get a start.
He was left on the bench for Barca’s crucial Champions League semi final first leg against Bayern Munich last week and although he did start the return leg on Wednesday night, he was played up front and had very little influence on things as the Spaniard’s were humiliated – going out 7-0 on aggregate.
Reports earlier this week suggested that Fabregas was unsettled and that Barca were willing to consider offers for the midfielder this summer, with a return to Arsenal suggested as a strong possibility.
However, Fabregas has responded by saying he has no idea what has been written but he failed to commit his long-term future to the Nou Camp when he cryptically said only he knows what his future holds.
“I do not know what is being said and even what is written. I can only say that I alone know my own future.” Fabregas is quoted as saying by Sky Sports
Like the majority of Arsenal fans, I’d love to see Cesc come back to the Emirates, but I can’t see him giving up his Barcelona adventure just yet. After their Bayern demolition, it looks like Barca might be set for a bit of an overhaul this summer so perhaps Cesc will seek talks to see what his role is going to be next season but I very much doubt he’ll be looking for a move any time soon.
Perhaps in a few years when he’s coming to the end of his career we can talk about him returning to Arsenal, but for now I think we should be concentrating on more realistic targets.
