Mourinho Denies Chelsea Deal Agreed & Claims ‘No Decision’ Has Been Made Over Future
Jose Mourinho has denied reports suggesting he’s already agreed to return to Chelsea this summer, insisting he will make a decision at the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho has denied reports suggesting he’s already agreed to return to Stamford Bridge this summer insisting he will make a decision over his future at the end of the season, according to Sky Sports.
The Portuguese coach strongly hinted after Real Madrid’s Champions League exit to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night that he’ll leave Spain this summer and return to England where he feels ‘loved’.
Reports on Friday morning suggested a deal had already been agreed for Mourinho to make a sensational return to Chelsea this summer, with the Madrid boss understood to have met with Roman Abramovich at a London hotel where a deal was said to have been agreed.
However, speaking at his weekly press conference on Friday ahead of Real’s clash with Vallodolid this weekend, the 50-year-old insists he is yet to make a decision over his future and claims he will only speak about his next move at the end of the season.
“It’s not worth talking about if I go or not. If I go, I will not give explanations.
“I’m working with total professionalism and I still have the same honour and pleasure to work for this club as I did a month or two ago.
“I have not taken the decision yet. First to know will be my wife and my children. Then the president (Florentino Perez) and director general (Jose Angel Sanchez).
“We will speak about the future after the end of the season. I have a Copa del Rey final and La Liga matches to play.” Mourinho is quoted as saying by Sky Sports
Despite Mourinho’s protestations, a move away from the Bernabeu still seems likely this summer and it would take a brave man to bet against him returning to west London. The only serious competition could come from Paris but with the love shown towards the former Porto man in England, it would be difficult to see him turning down an emotional return to the Premier League.
