Transfer News: Arsenal Tipped To Land Brazilian – Spurs Could Miss Out On Bundesliga Ace
Latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are tipped to sign Julio Cesar from Queens Park Rangers and Spurs could miss out on long-term target Heung-Min Son.
With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are tipped to sign Julio Cesar and Spurs could miss out on Heung-Min Son.
Cesar Gunner go?
First up and the Mirror are reporting that Julio Cesar is expected to leave Queens Park Rangers and move across London to sign for Arsenal this summer.
QPR’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed a couple of weeks ago and the newspaper suggests the west Londoners will be keen to get Cesar’s £70,000-a-week wages off the books and will therefore be willing to let him leave at a reasonable price at the end of the season.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be on the look-out for an experienced goalkeeper this summer to push Wojciech Szczesny for the No.1 shirt, and it seems he may have found his man in 33-year-old Brazilian international Cesar.
The Mirror claim Arsenal looked into signing Cesar when he left Inter Milan last summer but decided to stick with Szczesny, but after some disappointing displays this season it seems a new stopper is on the cards and QPR expect Cesar to make the move to the Emirates this summer.
Spurs miss out on Son?
Next up and the Express are reporting that Tottenham could be set to miss out on long-term target Heung-Min Son with Hamburg confident the forward will stay at the club this summer.
Son has emerged as one of the hottest properties in the Bundesliga after an excellent season with Hamburg, where the forward has netted 12 times and put in a string of impressive displays.
The newspaper claims Spurs have been tracking the South Korean for some time and were though to be close to agreeing a £10m deal, but Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen claims there is no agreement in place to sell their star man and feels the 20-year-old is set to stay at the club.
“I think he stays. At the moment there is no movement,”
“There are also no talks. It is agreed that we will talk after the last game. In the coming weeks we will sit together [and discuss it].” Arnesen is quoted as saying by the Express.
