Arsenal Line-Up Bid For Unsettled Juventus Midfielder Paul Pogba
Arsenal are lining-up a move for £15m-rated Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba who is unsettled in Italy following recent racial abuse, according to the Mirror.
With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Arsenal are linked with Paul Pogba.
Arsenal are lining-up a move for £15m-rated Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, who is unsettled in Italy following recent racial abuse, according to the Mirror.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed his breakthrough season in Italy, playing in 37 games in all competitions and chipped in with 5 goals to help Antonio Conte’s men retain their Serie A title, while he’s also broken into the French national team earning 2 caps so far.
The report claims Arsene Wenger is ready to use part of his ‘summer warchest’ to fund a move for a powerful midfielder and long-term target Pogba is on his radar again after the boss missed out signing him when he left Le Harve for Man Utd in 2009 and then again last summer when he opted for a free transfer move to Juve.
However, the Mirror claim we’ve been alerted once more after Pogba was racially abused during a derby match with Torino last month and Wenger is now ready to test the water with a serious bid this summer, with Juventus understood to value the lanky midfielder at £15m.
I’ve watched Pogba a few times this season and he’s certainly a huge talent and I think he’d be an excellent addition to our squad. Central midfield is an area I think we certainly need to strengthen this summer with a ball-winning, athletic midfielder required, and Pogba could fit the bill nicely.
But will Juve sell? If the player is determined to leave after the racial abuse it may be difficult for them to hang on to him, but I don’t think we’ll be the only club interested if he becomes available. Let’s keep an eye on this one….
