Arsenal Accept Five Bids But Bendtner Yet To Decide On Next Club

Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner hasn’t made a decision over his future yet, passing his own two week deadline to select who he’ll be playing for next season.

With Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner’s future still up in the air, writer Rayyan Dabbous takes a brief look back at his career and confirms the Dane has passed his own two week deadline to decide his next club.

Nicklas Bendtner hasn’t made a decision over his future yet, passing his own two week deadline to select who he’ll be playing for next season.

Bendtner is currently an Arsenal player but is on his way out or the Emirates this summer after failing to establish himself in Arsene Wenger’s plans – especially after a poor year on loan with Juventus last season.

The Danish international has had some success over the recent years including a surprisingly impressive Euro 2012 campaign that saw him score two goals against Portugal. He also enjoyed a decent loan spell with Sunderland back in 2011/12, where he scored 8 goals in 28 games and his most productive time with the Gunners came back in 2008/2009, when he scored 15 goals in 50 appearances.

However, the 25-year-old has suffered numerous setbacks lately. Injury and poor form restricted him to only 9 appearances with The Old Lady last campaign; starting only two games and scoring 0 in his 9 appearances, making it 14 months since he last scored at club level.

Earlier this month, Bentdner confirmed Arsenal had accepted bids from five unnamed clubs and it was now up to him to decide which to join this summer. He’s quoted as saying in the Mirror:

Arsenal have agreed with five clubs so now it is up to me to make a choice. I will make that choice within the next 14 days.

They are all good clubs. It is a hugely important choice I’m faced with. I must go where I am wanted. As a footballer, there is only one thing that can make you happy: playing time.

I can take a step back to take three forward.

However, his two week deadline has elapsed and his future still remains unresolved. The transfer window is set to open on Monday, so Nicklas Bendtner is expected to make a decision soon, with Germany tipped to be a possible destination.

The 6ft 4in striker has still a lot to offer though and I’m sure wherever he goes next he will try to get back on his feet and try and finally fulfill his potential.
