4 Arsenal Players To Look-Out For Next Season
As Arsenal fans still wait to see some new signings come in this summer, Gunner333 looks at 4 of the current squad who are in for a promising season ahead.
With Arsenal fans still hoping to see some big-money signings come through the door at the Emirates Stadium this summer, Gunner333 looks at 4 of the current squad who he thinks are in for a promising season ahead.
As the kick off to the new Premier League season draws ever closer, it’s looking increasingly unlikely we’ll see Arsene Wenger unleash his reportedly large budget on any big name players. I therefore feel it is fair to focus on our current crop of talent and who we should look out for over the next nine months.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
The young Englishman found regular first team football hard to come by last campaign and it was a largely disappointing season for the Ox. He did pick up the odd knock that hampered his progress but nothing that kept him out of action for any length of time, so he’ll be looking to make it up with a much-improved season next year.
With Gervinho on the brink of a move to Roma there could be more opportunities for Oxlade-Chamberlain to showcase his attacking flair. He’s got all the ability in the world but needs to produce the goods when he’s given the chance and I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a big season for the youngster.
Bacary Sagna
Unless Wenger decides to bring in another right-back before the window closes, Sagna looks set for another strenuous campaign in which he will be looking to prove a few doubters wrong.
Although many, including myself, have thought the Frenchman’s best days are behind him after a terrible last season, the 30-year-oldmay have found new motivation to prove the doubters wrong. His experience and cool-head will be vital and it would be hard to find a better right back for less than £20million when he’s on his game. Sagna has enjoyed an encouraging pre-season so hopefully he can take that into the new campaign.
Aaron Ramsey
Similar to the Ox, Ramsey has showcased his talents, but only in patches. On his day his tireless work-rate and excellent passing accuracy make him a useful player to have in the team. It’s taken him a while to get back to his best following his horrific injury at Stoke but he ended last season strongly and should one of Mikel Arteta or Jack Wilshere get injured or need a rest, Ramsey will be the first name to get a call-up. If he can take his chance, he might well force his way into Arsene Wenge’rs plans permanently.
Olivier Giroud
As we continue to struggle to bring in a world class striker this summer, it looks like it’s going to be a huge season for Giroud. The Frenchman stuttered last campaign with goals popping up inconsistently and his critics not believing he has what it takes to score frequently in the Premier League.
However, his pre-season has been excellent, scoring a hat trick and a brace in the first two games of the Asia tour and he was on the scoresheet again against Napoli on Saturday. Now he has settled in and it looks like no competition is on the horizon, maybe we can expect a great season from the Frenchman.
