Arsenal booked a fourth round date against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup after seeing off West Brom 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out after the match had finished 1-1 after the 120 minutes.
Young German midfielder Thomas Eisfeld put the Gunners ahead in the second half after being sent clear by Nicklas Bendtner before the Baggies equalised just 10 minutes later through Berahino. Neither side could find a winner so it went to the dreaded penalty shoot-out and after Serge Gnabry had missed for Arsenal, both Dawson and Amalfitano put their spot kicks wide leaving Nacho Monreal the hero as he sent the visitors through to the fourth round where they will play London rivals Chelsea.
