Manchester United welcome Norwich City to Old Trafford on Tuesday night in the fourth round of the Capital One Cup.
The Premier League champions saw off the threat of Liverpool 1-0 in the third round thanks to a Javier Hernandez strike and David Moyes will be keen to put together a decent cup run to ease the pressure following a difficult start to life in Manchester.
The Red Devils head into the game off the back off successive victories but are still yet to find their stride, with the champions forced to come from behind twice to see off Stoke City on Saturday.
Norwich booked their place in the fourth round thanks to a 3-2 in over Watford but are also struggling for consistency in the league having won just two of their opening nine Premiership games and were held to a 0-0 draw by Cardiff City at the weekend.
Team News
Moyes is expected to make full use of his squad tonight with several first team players given a breather.
Summer signing Wilfried Zaha is yet to start in the league but could be given the chance to impress, while out-of-favour Brazilian midfielder Anderson is also expected to feature.
Striker Hernandez is almost certain to start up front and could be joined by Shinji Kagawa and Antonio Valencia in attack, while Alexander Buttner and Anders Lindegaard may also get rare starts.
Rio Ferdinand is still struggling with a knock but Nemanja Vidic is pushing for a recall if he can prove his fitness. Chris Smalling is on stand-by if the Serb doesn’t make it. Marouane Fellaini won’t feature as he’s cup-tied having played for Everton in a previous round.
Norwich boss Chris Hughton is also expected to make some changes tonight. He could be without midfielder Alex Tettey who has an ankle injury while striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel is also struggling with a toe problem.
Steven Whittaker, Johan Elmander and Nathan Redmond are among those who could start at Old Trafford.
Likely Line-Ups
Key Man
Javier Hernandez: The Mexican may not be able to command a regular first team place but he’s always got a goal in him and is deadly when presented with an opportunity in the box. Keeping him quiet will be key for the visitors.
Predicted Score
Man Utd 2-0 Norwich: United may not be at their fluent best yet this season but we think they’ll have too much for Norwich tonight.
