Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho was the hero as he scored two goals to help France overcome a 2-0 deficit to beat Ukraine 3-2 on aggregate and book their place at the 2014 World Cup finals.
Sakho was on hand to poke home the opener in the 22nd minute before Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema levelled the score 2-2 on aggregate just 10 minutes later. Ukraine were then reduced to 10-men just after half time and France eventually made the pressure count with Sakho bundling home the ball at the far post.
The 3-2 aggregate win sees France make history in becoming the first side to overcome a 2-0 first leg deficit and they will now be heading to Brazil next summer. Watch the goals here:
