With Arsenal facing a tricky test against Everton on Sunday, Chelsea could apply the pressure by picking up all three points against the Potters and move to within a single point of their rivals.
Boss Jose Mourinho was happy with his sides performances in Wednesday’s dramatic 4-3 win over Sunderland but is expected to make a few changes in order to keep his players fresh during this busy period.
David Luiz was close to a comeback in midweek so he will replace Gary Cahill in defence if he proves his fitness ahead of Saturday’s kick-off. Ashley Cole is also expected to start having missed out against the Black Cats with Mourinho previously confirming the left-back will play in one of this weeks fixtures.
Andre Schurrle could also get a chance to impress in attack while Demba Ba, or possibly even Samuel Eto’o, may come in for Fernando Torres – who was hauled off after just 65 minutes in midweek after a disappointing display. Frank Lampard may get a breather in midfield with John Obi Mikel returning.
