The Black Cats hold a 2-1 lead following the first leg so United will be looking to turn things around on home soil with Manchester City awaiting the victors in the final at Wembley.
David Moyes is still without star strikers Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie meaning Danny Welbeck continues to lead the line up front alongside Javier Hernandez. Shinji Kagawa is given a start alongside Adnan Januzaj in attack while Darren Fletcher partners Michael Carrick in midfield.
Patrice Evra doesn’t make it so Alexander Buttner starts in defence. Here are the confirmed line-ups:
