Wenger Confirms He’s Looking To Buy Midfielder After Ruling Ramsey Our For 6 Weeks
Arsene Wenger has confirmed at his press conference this morning that he’s hoping to bring in a midfielder today after ruling Aaron Ramsey out for up to 6 weeks
With the January transfer window entering it’s final stages clubs are working hard to try and strengthen their squad for the second half of the season, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with all the latest news, gossip and rumours. Today, Gooner Mac bring us the latest on Arsene Wenger’s search for a midfielder.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has just confirmed at his press conference this morning that he’s hoping to bring in a midfielder today after ruling Aaron Ramsey out for up to six weeks.
The Welshman suffered a set back in his recovery from a thigh injury in training on Monday and the boss has revealed that the damage is worse than first feared and he’ll now miss 4-6 weeks.

It’s obviously a devastating blow for both the player and the club. Ramsey has been one of our best players this season and was just starting to fulfill his true potential but has seen his season derailed by this latest injury.
It now leaves us short of cover in midfield, especially with Mathieu Flamini now banned for the next three games. This has led to a change in transfer plan for the club, with Wenger also confirming that he’s trying to strengthen his central options before tonight’s 11pm deadline.

At the start of the season midfield was probably our strongest area but with Ramsey out, Wilshere constantly battling his ankle problems, Oxlade-Chamberlain only just back from a five-month injury, Flamini suspended and Mikel Arteta also susceptible to niggling injuries, we’re suddenly down to the bare bones.
Most fans feel a winger and/or striker need to come in today but it does make sense if we bring in a midfielder, although I have the feeling any new additions will be short-term loan deals and not big-money signings.
