Arsenal Set For Double Injury Boost Ahead Of Key Fixtures

Arsenal have been handed a double injury boost with the news that Aaron Ramsey and Kim Kallstrom are set to return from injury over the next 10 days, according to the Mirror.
Kallstrom was a shock signing on the final day of the January transfer window, with Arsene Wenger opting to sign the Swedish veteran on loan from Spartak Moscow despite knowing he had a back injury that would keep him out for up to six weeks.
However, the Mirror claim the 31-year-old has made good progress with his recovery and has an outside chance of making the squad to face Everton on Saturday after telling the Swedish FA’s medical staff he’s “close to being fit”.
It’s highly unlikely Kallstrom will start the FA Cup clash but he could make his debut off the bench and would therefore be available for the subsequent games against Bayern Munich and Tottenham.
There is also positive news on the fitness of Aaron Ramsey with the newspaper suggesting the Welshman is also set to make a comeback from injury against Spurs next weekend.
The 23-year-old was having an excellent season, scoring 13 goals during a prolific first half of the campaign to help us sit top of the table before picking up a thigh injury against West Ham on Boxing Day.
Ramsey was close to making his return in late January before a set back in training sidelined him for a further month, but he’s now back training and while the Bayern game will come too soon, he’s targetting the north London derby at White Hart Lane as his return date.
It will come as a welcome boost to Wenger to have these two midfielders available during what’s going to be a season-defining month that sees us play Everton, Bayern, Spurs, Chelsea and Man City over the course of three competitions.
