Man City Pre-Arsenal Team News: Pellegrini Offers Update On Aguero, Silva + More

Manchester City are in the capital tomorrow to take on Arsenal at the Emirates in a vital game at the top of the league.
Ahead of the match, City boss Manuel Pellegrini has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference today and gave reporters a team news and injury update.
The good news is that playmaker David Silva has been passed fit to play, despite rumours suggesting he could miss out after picking up an ankle knock during Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Manchester United.
The 28-year-old complained of feeling pain in his ankle shortly after the victory at Old Trafford and he had been considered a major doubt to make the trip to north London, but Pellegrini has confirmed the Spaniard is in the squad.
However, City will have to continue to make do without the services of striker Sergio Aguero with the Argentinean still needing another week before he’s in contention following a hamstring injury. Aguero joins defender Matija Nastasic on the sidelines.
Pellegrini told reporters:
‘Yes Silva is okay, he is in the squad list,’
‘The team is exactly the same as last week with Aguero and Nastasic out. All the other players are fit. Aguero needs one more week. We will see next week how he improves from his injury.’ Pellegrini is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail
City head into the game sitting three points clear of fourth-placed Arsenal so the Citizens could all-but end the Gunners title aspirations with a win, as they also hold two games in hand over their rivals, whilst victory would see Pellegrini’s men installed as the odds-on favourites to lift the title.
