Fabregas ‘Tells Friends’ He’ll Snub Move To Arsenal Or Manchester United
Cesc Fabregas is ready to turn down potential moves to Arsenal and Man United after expressing his desire to stay at Barcelona and prove his doubters wrong
As we approach the opening of the summer window clubs will be intensifying their efforts in the transfer market so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Cesc Fabregas is ready to snub Arsenal and Manchester United.
Cesc Fabregas is ready to turn down potential moves to Arsenal and Manchester United after expressing his desire to stay at Barcelona and prove his doubters wrong, according to reports in Spain.
The 27-year-old moved back to Barcelona in 2011 following eight years with Arsenal but has endured a mixed time at the Nou Camp since rejoining his boyhood club. While he’s picked up six major trophies in the last three years, Fabregas hasn’t always been considered as an automatic first choice pick and even when he has been selected, he’s often been played out of his favoured central midfield position.
Boss Tata Martino has often deployed the Spanish international in a ‘false 9’ role up front and understandably this has affected the players performances on the pitch. However, he’s still been the target of jeers from the Nou Camp faithful at times this season and appears to have been singled out as a scapegoat for what’s been a relatively disappointing season for the Catalans.
This unrest alerted both Arsenal and Manchester United with recent reports claiming the duo were keen on luring him back to the Premier League. The Gunners have a buy-back clause inserted in the Fabregas’s contract and were believed to have explored the possibility of activating it this summer, while United were reportedly set to renew their interest having failed with two bids to sign the midfielder last summer.
However, it seems Fabregas is ready to disappoint the two clubs with Spanish outlet El Confidencial claiming today that the midfielder has told close friends that he has no intention of leaving Barcelona this summer and wants to stay and prove his doubters wrong.
While this may come as a blow to Arsenal and United, they may still have hope as Barcelona officials may take the decision out of the players hands. Fabregas has just two years left on his contract and with the club set to undergo a major overhaul this summer, some outlets have suggested that the club may opt to sell him now to help raise extra transfer funds.
If Barca do decide to cash-in, this would give Fabregas the clearest indication yet that he’s no longer part of their plans and he may then be open to a return to the Premier League.

Although United may do their best to lure him to Old Trafford, if Arsenal do have a buy-back clause then it would be difficult to see Fabregas joining any other English club as he still has a huge affiliation with the Gunners, and Arsene Wenger would find it difficult to resist re-signing his former protege.
