Arsenal Open Formal Talks Over Potential €10m Deal For Chelsea Target
Arsenal have opened talks with French champions Paris Saint-Germain over a potential €10m deal for Chelsea midfielder target Adrien Rabiot, according to reports
The summer transfer window is now well under way and managers are working hard to strengthen their squads ahead of next season, so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Arsenal are linked with Chelsea target Adrien Rabiot.
Arsenal have opened formal talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential €10m deal for Chelsea midfield target Adrien Rabiot, according to reports.
Rabiot has been with the French champions since 2010 and made his breakthrough into the first team squad in 2012 after two years in the youth team set up, but he was sent out on loan to Toulouse in January 2013 to get some much-needed first team football under his belt.
The 19-year-old is now facing an uncertain future at the Parc des Prince after turning down a new contract due to concerns over the amount of regular action he’d see, with the youngster struggling to force his way past the likes of Blaise Matuidi, Marco Verratti and Yohan Cabaye.
Reports earlier this week claimed that Chelsea had stepped up their interest in the youngster with Jose Mourinho understood to view him as a cheaper alternative to Paul Pogba as the Portuguese coach looks to bring in more midfield options this summer.
However, it looks like the Blues face some stiff competition from Arsenal with the Mirror one of several media outlets who are reporting the Gunners have now opened talks with PSG over a potential deal to take Rabiot to the Emirates.
The newspaper suggests that Arsene Wenger has been tracking Rabiot for some time and with the Frenchman on the look-out for another midfielder this summer, it appears he’s finally made his move to try and lure the player to North London.
It remains to be seen how Chelsea will react to the news that Arsenal have opened talks with PSG, but for now it looks like the Gunners are the front runners for Rabiot’s signature.
The teenager has represented France at every youth level from Under-16 right through to Under-21 level and is tipped to make the breakthrough into the senior squad soon.

With just one year left on his contract, it’s thought that PSG would be willing to do business at €10m, which could turn out to be a bargain for either Arsenal or Chelsea if Rabiot goes on to fulfill his enormous potential.
