Spanish Forward ‘Keen To Talk’ With Arsenal + Liverpool About January Move
Spanish forward Pedro is keen to hold talks with both Arsenal and Liverpool about a potential January move away from Barcelona, according to reports today.
The summer transfer window may be closed but managers are already thinking ahead to future transfer windows so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip. Today, Arsenal and Liverpool are linked with Barcelona forward Pedro.
Spanish forward Pedro is keen to hold talks with both Arsenal and Liverpool about a potential January move away from Barcelona, according to reports today.
Pedro has been with Barca since joining the youth team in 2004 as a 17-year-old and came through the C and B teams before making his first team debut in 2008. He was expected to go on and become a permanent fixture in the side after establishing himself as a regular in 2009, when he scored 23 goals in 52 appearances.
However, his career has stalled in recent seasons as he’s largely been used as an impact substitute with the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, David Villa and Alexis Sanchez all keeping him out of the team over the past few years.
The 27-year-old has yet to complete ninety minutes this season and his first team opportunities are only going to diminish further when marquee signing Luis Suarez returns from his ban next month.
It seems the Spanish international is now ready to consider his future and Arsenal and Liverpool are being touted as potential new destinations, with the Metro claiming that the forward is keen to listen to what the Premier League duo have to offer when the transfer window reopens in January.
Pedro has been linked with a move to the Gunners in the past and the newspaper suggests that he would ‘relish’ the opportunity to link up with former team-mate Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates. Obviously Pedro would be an excellent addition to any squad but it remains to be seen whether Arsene Wenger feels he needs to splash out big money on another attacker after signing both Sanchez and Danny Welbeck this summer.

Likewise, it would be difficult to see Brendan Rodgers pushing the boat too far for another forward after signing Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Divock Origi and Lazar Markovic in the summer, but Pedro would certainly bring a huge amount of quality and experience to the Merseysiders if they did decide to pursue a deal.
