[Tweets] Drogba & Cech Among Players To React On Twitter To Chelsea Victory
Didier Drogba, Petr Cech and Nathan Ake all took to Twitter last night to react to Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Shrewsbury in the Capital One Cup. See what they said
Chelsea edged past Shrewsbury Town 2-1 on Tuesday night to book their place in the quarter finals of the Capital One Cup.
Didier Drogba opened the scoring for the visitors with a fine finish just after half time before substitute Andy Mangan poked home the equaliser for Shrewsbury with 15 minutes remaining.
However, the Premier League leaders forced a winner just 5 minutes later when Jermaine Grandison put Willian’s cross through his own net under pressure from Drogba to book Chelsea’s place in the quarter finals of the League Cup.
After the game, Drogba took to Twitter to praise Shrewsbury and to say that Chelsea showed great spirit to beat the League Two outfit. Nathan Ake also admitted the Blues had faced a tough game while he and Petr Cech both thanked the travelling Chelsea fans for their support.
