Wenger Confirms Blow As Walcott Ruled Out Of Man Utd Clash With Groin Injury
Arsene Wenger has revealed that Theo Walcott will miss tomorrow’s clash with Manchester United after picking up a minor groin injury. See what the boss said.
Arsene Wenger has revealed that Theo Walcott will miss tomorrow’s clash with Manchester United after picking up a minor groin injury.
We welcome the 20-time Premier League champions to the Emirates tomorrow evening and many had hoped that Walcott would be in contention to make his first start in over 10 months.
However, Wenger told reporters at his pre-match press conference this morning that the winger missed training on Thursday after complaining of a tight groin.
The 25-year-old will be assessed along with the rest of the squad at London Colney this morning but the boss expects Walcott to sit out of tomorrow’s clash with United.
The news comes as a huge blow as Theo has only recently returned to action after recovering from a knee injury that kept him on the sidelines since early January.
Walcott got an impressive 10 minute cameo under his belt against Burnley earlier this month and it was hoped he’d feature once again tomorrow, but it looks as though he’s now set to miss out and could be a doubt for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund.
Here’s what Wenger had to say:
