[Tweets] Sturridge, Ozil & Walcott Pay Tribute To Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry
Daniel Sturridge, Theo Walcott and Aaron Ramsey are among the players to have taken to Twitter to pay tribute to Thierry Henry after he announced his reitrement
The big news this morning is that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has announced his retirement from the game and will join Sky Sports as a pundit.
Henry confirmed last month that he was ending his four-year stay in New York after leaving the Red Bulls when his contract expired.
A potential return to his beloved Arsenal, either in a playing capacity or as a coach, was mooted by some but the 37-year-old has chosen to step into punditry as his next career move.
During his glittering career, Henry scored 411 goals in 915 games for club and country, winning 2 Premier League titles, 2 La Liga’s, 1 Champions League, 1 World Cup, 1 European Championship and was an integral part of Arsenal’s 2004 ‘Invincibles’ side, so it’s no wonder he’ll go down as one of the greats.
Understandably, there’s a lot of love for the French forward on social media today and Arsenal players Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey, Chuba Akpom and Hector Bellerin have all taken to Twitter to pay tribute to their former team-mate.
Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge and former Barcelona team-mates Victor Valdes and Carles Puyol have also been online to congratulate Henry on an amazing career.
