Chelsea vs Newcastle Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Ups, Prediction & Betting Tips
Chelsea take on Newcastle at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Here’s a preview with team news, line-up, predicted score and betting tips for the game.
Chelsea will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues eased into the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-0 win over Watford last weekend and they have a clash against Millwall or Bradford to look forward to in the next stage.
However, Jose Mourinho will still be hurting from their 5-3 loss at White Hart Lane on New Years Day so will be desperate to get back to winning ways and put some daylight between them and Manchester City – with just alphabetical order separating the two sides at the top of the league.
Newcastle head into the game still without a permanent replacement for Alan Pardew after he left to join Crystal Palace last week so John Carver will continue to oversee team affairs tomorrow.
The Magpies will take great heart from the fact they became the first side to beat Chelsea this season having recorded a 2-1 victory at St James’ Park back in December.

Team news
Chelsea have no fresh injury worries to contend with so Jose Mourinho has a fully-fit squad to choose from.
The Portuguese coach is expected to make a number of changes from the side that started in the FA Cup last week with the likes of John Terry, Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas all likely to return.
Newcastle on the other hand have mounting injury worries with a number of players unavailable for the trip to the capital.
Steven Taylor, Sim De Jong, Gabriel Obertan, Sammy Ameobi, Ryan Taylor and Ronaldo Aarons are all still missing through injury, while Cheick Tiote and Papiss Cisse are away on international duty at the African Cup of Nations.
However, there is some positive news as Tim Krul will return in goal after recovering from an injury that’s kept him out since November.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Chelsea 2-0 Newcastle: The Blues will still be hurting from their disappointing loss at White Hart Lane and I fully expect Mourinho’s men to respond with a comfortable victory over managerless Newcastle.
Betting Tips
Chelsea are the heavy favourites tomorrow with best odds of just 2/9 – which won’t attract the attention of many punters. However, thanks to Football-Talk, new customers can now get enhanced odds of 3/1 on a home win while you can also qualify for £100 worth of free bets. A 2-0 home win is on offer at 11/2 while I also fancy Eden Hazard to open the scoring at odds of 4/1. If we combine those two bets in a scorecast, then we get very tempting odds of 18/1. Surely that’s got to be worth a couple of quid!?
