Chelsea vs Everton Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Ups, Prediction & Betting Tips
Chelsea take on Everton at Stamford Bridge this evening. Here’s a preview with team news, line-ups, predicted score and betting tips for the game.
Chelsea will be looking to tighten their grip at the top of the table when they take on Everton at Stamford Bridge this evening.
The Blues took full advantage of Manchester City’s 1-1 draw at home to Hull on Saturday by opening up a seven point advantage with a narrow 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park.
With Manuel Pellegrini’s men away at Stoke City tonight, Chelsea will be ready to capatalise on any further slip-up from their nearest rivals as they welcome Everton to the Bridge.
The league leaders left Goodison Park with a 6-3 win back in August and Jose Mourinho will be confident of doing the double as the Toffees haven’t won away at Chelsea in the league since 1994.
Roberto Martinez’s side have picked up just one win in their last eight games so they will have to put in a real performance tonight if they want to improve upon their current 12th-place position in the table.
Team news
Chelsea welcome back midfielder Cesc Fabregas after he recovered from a hamstring injury that’s kept him out of the last two games.
Filipe Luis could also be back in contention after a calf problem but Cesar Azpilicueta is expected to keep his place at left-back.
Diego Costa serves the final of his three-match ban so Loic Remy or Didier Drogba will deputise up front.
Everton are likely to be without Leighton Baines as he continues to nurse a knee injury that kept him out of Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool.
Aiden McGeady will also miss out with a knee problem so he joins Steven Pienaar, Leon Osman and Tim Howard on the sidelines.

Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Chelsea 2-0 Everton: The Blues have a formidable home record and Everton are struggling to put a run of results together, so I can’t see past a routine home win for Mourinho’s men.
Betting Tips
Chelsea are the heavy favourites to win the game with best odds of 4/11 but thanks to Football-Talk, new customers can get enhanced odds of 3/1 on a Blues win with Betfair while you can also win £100 worth of free bets. A 2-0 win is on offer at 8/1 and I fancy Eden Hazard to open the scoring at odds of 7/2. If we combine those bets in a scorecast then we get very tempting odds of 12/1. Surely that’s got to be worth a couple of quid!?
