Man Utd Suffer Major Blow As Star Picks Up Injury In Training

Manchester United appear to have been dealt a major blow after Angel Di Maria injured his pelvis in training on Tuesday morning, according to reports today.
Di Maria played the full ninety minutes as Manchester United came from a goal down to beat Preston North End and book their place in the quarter finals of the FA Cup on Monday night.
However, it seems the 27-year-old could be set for a spell on the sidelines as the Express are carrying a report this afternoon which claims the Argentinean international suffered a pelvic injury in the warm-up before United’s training session earlier today.
There’s been no official word from United about the injury and the rumours appear to have originally come from the Daily Mail newspaper, but we’ll have to wait and see how much substance there is behind the reports.
If the speculation proves accurate, then it will be a huge blow to Louis van Gaal as he was slowly getting his squad back together after an injury-plagued first season in charge at Old Trafford.
Di Maria missed four games over the Christmas and New Year period with a pelvic injury and van Gaal admitted at the time that there’s an issue with how his pelvis links-up to his leg.
“It is not a muscle injury. It is more the pelvis does not have the right relationship with the leg.” van Gaal told the BBC in December
If this is a long-running issue, United will hope any new injury can be cleared up quickly as they won’t want to lose Di Maria for any period of time.
Michael Carrick has suffered a set-back in his bid to recover from a calf injury while Phil Jones picked up an ankle problem against Burnley last week, so van Gaal will be hoping to avoid any more injuries as he looks to end the season strongly.
