Arsenal & Man Utd Target Keen On Summer Move, Agent Confirms Interest
Arsenal and Man Utd target Blaise Matuidi wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer and his agent has confirmed there is serious interest in the midfielder
The January transfer window is now closed but that won’t stop the newspapers from speculating ahead of the summer so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Arsenal and Manchester United are linked with Blaise Matuidi….
Arsenal and Manchester United target Blaise Matuidi is keen on leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer and his agent has confirmed there is serious interest in the midfielder, according to reports.
Matuidi joined PSG from Saint-Etienne in 2011 and has developed into one of the most dominant central midfielders in Europe over the past 18 months.
His impressive performances attracted interest from some top clubs last summer and he was heavily linked with a move before eventually opting to stay at the Parc des Princes after signing a new contract.
However, it appears the 27-year-old is now ready for a fresh challenge as the Express claim Matuidi wants to leave PSG at the end of the season and has made it clear he’s interested in trying his luck in the Premier League while he’s still at the peak of his career.
The newspaper suggests that Arsenal and Manchester United are ready to offer him that chance and the players agent, Mino Raiolo, has fuelled the speculation after telling reporters that he thinks it’s time the midfielder moved clubs and claims there is no shortage of interest in his client.
“It would have been good if he had changed club last summer. But he didn’t want to and neither did PSG.”
“I am still of the same opinion: it is good for the player and for the club when there are changes in the group. But Nasser did not agree, so Blaise is still here.”
“Twenty-five clubs wanted Blaise! PSG refused offers, really big offers from clubs of the same standing as PSG.” Raiolo is quoted as saying by the Express
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be ready to let go of Mathieu Flamini, Abou Diaby and possibly even Mikel Arteta in order to make room for a new midfielder and Matuidi would be just the sort of player the Gunners have been crying out for in recent years.
United are also going to be in the market for new recruits this summer and Louis van Gaal has already hinted that midfield will be a particular priority, so I’m sure the Dutchman would jump at the chance to sign a player of Matuidi’s quality.

It remains to be seen whether PSG will sell but there have been reports suggesting they may be willing to cash-in for £25m as they are mindful of meeting Financial Fair Play guidelines after being slapped with a hefty fine last year, but we’ll have to wait and see whether there is any truth in that claim.
