Liverpool will be looking to climb into the top four when they take on Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. Here is the side I think Brendan Rodgers will pick:
Goalkeeper: Simon Mignolet has been back to his best in recent weeks so he’s a cert to start in goal on Sunday.
Defence: Mamadou Sakho returned to the starting eleven during last weeks 1-0 win against Swansea and I think we’ll see the Frenchman keep his place alongside Martin Skrtel and Erme Can on Sunday. That would see the likes of Dejan Lovren Glen Johnson and Kolo Toure all miss out.
Midfield: Steven Gerrard made his injury return after coming off the bench for the final half hour at the Liberty Stadium so Rodgers has a huge decision to make over his captain and I have a feeling we’ll see him recalled to the starting eleven to face United at Anfield for possibly the final time. This could see Jordan Henderson move to the right wing and he’d give Liverpool added solidity against the threat of Angel Di Maria. Alberto Moreno is expected to keep his place on the left wing so Lazar Markovic is likely to miss out, while the fit-again Lucas Leiva could return to the bench.
Attack: I don’t think there’s too much debate over who will start in attack on Sunday. While Adam Lallana may feel he deserves a place in the side, I think Rodgers will go with Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling behind Daniel Sturridge.
Here is how I think we’ll see Liverpool line-up:
What do you think? What line-up would you like to see start?
