Hull vs Chelsea Preview, Team News, Likely Line-Ups, Predicted Score & Betting Tips
Chelsea will play Hull City at the KC Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, prediction and betting tips.
Chelsea will look to tighten their grip at the top of the Premier League table when they face Hull City on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues saw their lead at the top cut to three points after Manchester City thrashed West Brom 3-0 on Saturday afternoon so they’ll be desperate to restore their six-point advantage [with a game in hand] with victory at the KC Stadium.
Jose Mourinho’s side were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Southampton last weekend while they were dumped out of the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain so the Portuguese coach will be keen to get back to winning ways tomorrow.
However, Hull are fighting for their lives at the wrong end of the table with Steve Bruce’s men sitting 15th in the division and just three points from the drop zone so they too will be desperate to pick up a positive result against the leaders.
Team news
Chelsea have no fresh injury worries to contend with so John Obi Mikel remains their only definite absentee as the Nigerian midfielder continues to nurse a knee injury.
Willian was one of a few players who missed training last week with an unspecified knock so he could be rested tomorrow.
Hull will recall record signing Abel Hernandez to the starting eleven as striker Nikica Jelavic is out for at least six weeks with a knee injury.
Tom Huddlestone misses out through suspension following his sending off last week while Mohamed Diame, Liam Rosenior, James Chester and Robbie Brady are all still out injured.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Hull 0-2 Chelsea: The Blues may have been held to draws in their last two home games but away they have been strong of late and I can see Mourinho’s men extending their lead at the top of the table with a relatively easy win tomorrow.
Betting Tips
Chelsea are favourites to win the game at odds of 4/9 but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 3/1 for a Chelsea win, plus you can get money back if you lose. My prediction of 2-0 is on offer at odds of 5/1 while I also like the look of Eden Hazard to open the scoring at odds of 11/2. If we combine those bets in a scorecast then we get very tempting odds of 18/1. Surely that’s got to be worth a couple of quid!?
