Arsenal Set To Make Offer For €24m Chelsea Target, Club Ready To Sell
Arsenal are ready to make a formal offer for Chelsea target Mateo Kovacic amid rumours Inter Milan are ready to cash in on the midfielder, according to reports.
The January transfer window is now closed but that won’t stop the newspapers from speculating ahead of the summer so we’ll bring you all the news and gossip. Today, Arsenal are ready to move for Mateo Kovacic….
Arsenal are ready to make a formal offer for Chelsea target Mateo Kovacic amid rumours Inter Milan are ready to cash in on the midfielder, according to reports.
Kovacic joined Inter from Dinamo Zagreb in January 2013 and has developed into one of the most promising midfielders in European football over the past two years.
His impressive performances have attracted interest from the Premier League with reports suggesting that Arsenal and Chelsea are keen on luring the 20-year-old to England this summer.
However, it looks like the Gunners are ready to steal a march on their rivals as the Metro are citing reports from Spain that claim Arsene Wenger is ready to table a formal offer for the midfielder over the coming weeks.
The newspaper doesn’t state what Arsenal’s precise off will be but they suggest that Inter are ready to cash-in on the Croatian international if their €24m valuation is met.
Kovacic has predominantly been used as a deep-lying playmaker and he’s known for his excellent passing range so Wenger is probably eyeing him as a potential replacement for Mikel Arteta – who’s contract expires this summer and there have been rumours linking him with a move back to Spain.

We’ll have to wait and see whether the North Londoners are prepared to meet Inter’s supposed valuation but I still wouldn’t rule Chelsea out of the race just yet as Jose Mourinho is also expected to strengthen his midfield options this summer too, and Kovacic would be an excellent addition for either club.
