[Video Highlights] Swindon 1-2 Liverpool: Benteke Scores Stunning Volley On Debut

Christian Benteke scored a stunning volley on his debut to help Liverpool to a 2-1 victory over Swindon Town this afternoon.

The Belgian international made his first start for the Reds following his big-money move from Aston Villa last month and it hasn’t taken him long to show fans what he’s capable of.

After a goalless first half, Benteke opened the scoring just minutes after the break as he thumped home a stunning volley on the turn into the top corner for 0-1.

Swindon then equalised in the 62nd minute when Jonathan Obika curled home a fine effort but Liverpool won it late on when the hosts goalkeeper could only palm a powerful effort from Oluwaseyi Ojo into his net.

It rounds off Liverpool’s pre-season and they’ll now prepare for Sunday’s Premier League opener when they take on Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
