[Video Goals] Bordeaux 1-1 Liverpool: Lallana Stunner Not Enough As Reds Held

A weakened Liverpool side got their Europa League campaign off to a solid start with a 1-1 draw away to Bordeaux on Thursday night.

Brendan Rodgers made 8 changes from the side that lost at Manchester United last weekend with a whole host of key names left back in Merseyside.

With a team packed full of fringe players, it was understandable that the Reds looked disjointed early on and a poor first half ended goalless.

However, shortly after the hosts missed a great chance to score, Liverpool managed to break the deadlock midway through the second period.

Adam Lallana marked his comeback from injury with an excellent goal with the attacker nut-megging his opponent before cooly slotting home into the far corner.

But Bordeaux levelled things up in the 80th minute when Jussie was on hand to fire home a loose ball from 18 yards to make it 1-1. Neither side could find a winner so Liverpool head back to England with a well-earned point.
