Arsenal kept pace with Manchester City at the top of the league with a 3-0 victory over Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon.
The first half was largely a forgettable affair with Gomis missing an excellent opportunity to score for the hosts while Giroud also blazed over when well placed for the Gunners.
However, the Frenchman made up for his earlier miss after getting the vital opener – the striker heading Arsenal in front just after half-time following a Mesut Ozil corner.
We then made it 2-0 in the 70th minute when Laurent Koscielny tapped home into an empty net after Lukasz Fabianski had dropped an Ozil cross. Swansea appealed for a foul but the referee allowed the goal.
The three points were then sealed when Joel Campbell cooly slotted home at the far post after a cut-back from Ozil to score his first Premier League goal for the club.
The win ensures we remain level on points with league leaders Manchester City after they beat Norwich 2-1 at the Etihad thanks to a late Yaya Toure penalty.
