Wenger Thinks Arsenal Star Will Miss Crucial Man City Clash
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed the clubs medical team feel Alexis Sanchez will miss next weeks crucial clash with Manchester City.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed the clubs medical team feel Alexis Sanchez will miss next weeks crucial clash with Manchester City.
Sanchez has missed our last three games after being forced off at Norwich City two weeks ago with a hamstring injury that he suffered during the second half of our draw at Carrow Road.
The 26-year-old has been spending time back in Chile recuperating and Arsene revealed on Saturday that the attacker was due to arrive back in North London today ahead of resuming first team training on Monday morning.
The boss has now confirmed that the clubs medical team still feel Sanchez won’t recover in time to feature when Manchester City come to the Emirates next Monday.
However, the Frenchman teased fans by suggesting that Alexis could yet make a swift recovery and put himself in contention for the crucial clash on December 21.
He told Arsenal.com:
on injuries…
The closest to having a chance is Alexis. Medically, we think – my people think, he will not be ready [for Manchester City] but Alexis being Alexis, you never know.
It would be a big blow if Sanchez was ruled out of the City game as it’s going to be pivotal in our title challenge, so fingers crossed he can get a full weeks training under his belt and put himself in the frame for a place in the squad.
