Liverpool vs Leicester Preview, Team News, Line-Ups & Predicted Score
Liverpool take on Premier League leaders Leicester on Saturday afternoon. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups and predicted score.
Liverpool will look to get back to winning ways when they take on Premier League leaders Leicester City at Anfield on Boxing Day.
The Reds slumped to a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road last weekend meaning they’ve taken just one point from their last three games.
That poor run has left the Merseysiders sitting down in ninth position in the table and five points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur so Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to get back to winning ways tomorrow in order to give their top four hopes a major boost.
However, Liverpool will be up against an in-form Leicester side who continue to defy the odds and sit two points clear at the top of the Premier League table at Christmas following last weekend’s 3-2 win at Everton.
That result followed on from wins over Chelsea and Swansea so the Foxes are looking to maintain their position at the summit with another positive result at Anfield this weekend.
Team news
Liverpool will be without defender Martin Skrtel after the centre-back was forced off against Watford with a hamstring injury which is expected to keep him out for around six weeks.
However, Dejan Lovren is back in contention after returning to training following a knee injury so he should come straight back in alongside Mamadou Sakho at the back.
James Milner continues to miss out with a calf injury but Simon Mignolet is available again after missing the trip to Vicarage Road with a hamstring problem.
Leicester will be without Danny Drinkwater as he suffered a hamstring injury at Goodison Park but Robert Huth is back from suspension.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Liverpool 1-1 Leicester City: The Reds inconsistent form is hampering their Champions League aspirations and they are going to face a real test against Leicester tomorrow afternoon. I’m expecting an entertaining game but fancy it to end in a score draw.
