Chelsea Team News: Hiddink Confirms Huge Double Injury Boost Ahead Of Arsenal Trip
Guus Hiddink has confirmed a huge double injury boost ahead of Chelsea’s huge Premier League trip to Arsenal this weekend. Find out more details here.
Chelsea will look to climb up the Premier League table with a positive result when they take on Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, interim boss Guus Hiddink has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given a team news and injury update.
The Dutchman was pleased to confirm a huge double injury boost for the Blues with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa passed fit for the trip to the Emirates this weekend.
Hazard has missed Chelsea’s last three matches after being forced off with a groin injury during the latter stages of the 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace on January 3rd.
However, the Belgian international has been able to take part in full training this week and Hiddink says he’s now available to make his return to the first team against Arsenal.
Costa was considered as a major doubt for the game on Sunday after being sent to hospital with a shin injury that he picked up during Chelsea’s thrilling 3-3 draw with Everton last weekend.
There were fears the Spanish international may be set for a spell on the sidelines but despite the striker not being able to take part in training this week, Hiddink says Costa is still available for selection against the Gunners.
The news will come as a major double boost for the beleaguered defending champions as they head to the Emirates sitting fourteenth in the table and in desperate need of a win to haul themselves up the division and back in to contention for a top four place.
