Marcus Rashford capped-off a dream four days after scoring twice to secure Manchester United a 3-2 victory over Arsenal at Old Trafford this afternoon.
After a fairly low key start, the game fired in to life and it was a local lad who once again stole the headlines as Rashford opened the scoring with a fine finish following some poor Arsenal defending.
The 18-year-old then scored his fourth goal in just two games three minutes later as he headed home a Jesse Lingard cross to put United 2-0 up in the 32nd minute.
However, Arsenal got themselves back in the game when Danny Welbeck headed home a Mesut Ozil free kick in the 40th minute to make it 2-1 at the break.
United restored their two-goal advantage when Ander Herrera’s shot deflected off Laurent Koscileny and past Petr Cech for 3-1 before Mesut Ozil made it 3-2 in the 69th minute to set up a nervy last 20 minutes.
However, the visitors couldn’t create anything of note so United held on to secure a huge three points that sees them move to within three points of the top four while Arsenal remain five points adrift of leaders Leicester City.
