Alexis Sanchez struck late on to rescue a point for 10-man Arsenal during a thoroughly entertaining 2-2 draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane this afternoon.
Spurs enjoyed the lions share of possession early on but were struggling to create any clear-cut chances and Arsenal made them pay after opening the scoring in the 39th minute when Aaron Ramsey flicked home Hector Bellerin’s cross to put the visitors in front.
The games turning point came shortly after half-time when Francis Coquelin was dismissed for a second booking and it wasn’t long before Spurs levelled things up with Toby Alderweireld firing home for 1-1 in the 60th minute.
Tottenham then turned the game on it’s head with Harry Kane curling home a stunner to make it 2-1 in the 62nd minute and it looked as though the hosts were set to secure a win that would take them top of the table.
However, Arsenal refused to be beaten and managed to find an equaliser with Alexis Sanchez slotting past Hugo Lloris in the 76th minute to make it 2-2.
Both sides had chances to grab a winner but it finished all square so Leicester can go five points clear of Spurs and eight clear of Arsenal if they beat Watford this evening.
