Paul Merson Makes His Prediction Ahead Of Liverpool’s Clash With Tottenham

Paul Merson has offered his prediction ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield this weekend.

Liverpool’s hopes of sneaking a top four finish all-but ended with their disappointing 3-2 defeat at Southampton before the international break so Jurgen Klopp’s men have little left to play for in the league and they’d be forgiven for having one eye on Thursday’s huge Europa League clash with Borussia Dortmund.

Spurs on the other hand head to Merseyside desperately needing a win to close the gap on league leaders Leicester City and former Arsenal winger Merson believes the North Londoners are going to edge this one.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson has tipped Spurs to continue their good form by coming away from Anfield with a 2-1 victory.

I’m going for Spurs. They were very good against Bournemouth last time out and this is a big game that they have to win.

Some people are saying it’s a must-not lose game for Spurs, but I think they need the win with the fixtures they have coming up.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Merson’s prediction proves accurate but a defeat would hardly be the ideal preparation for Liverpool ahead of their showdown with Dortmund, so I’m sure Klopp will be looking for a more positive result.
