Chelsea Team News: Hiddink Confirms Huge Injury Boost But Trio Ruled Out
Guus Hiddink has confirmed a major injury boost ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth but three points remain unavailable for selection
Chelsea will look to get back to winning ways when they take on AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Guus Hiddink has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.
The interim Blues boss was pleased to confirm a huge injury boost with the news that Eden Hazard will return to the squad this weekend after finally shaking off a niggling hip injury.
The Belgian international has missed the last five matches in all competitions after aggravating his hip problem against Stoke City last month but the attacker has trained well this week and is in contention to face Bournemouth tomorrow – although he’s not ready to play the full ninety minutes just yet.
However, it wasn’t all positive news as Hiddink also confirmed that John Terry, Loic Remy and of course Kurt Zouma will continue to miss out for the deposed Premier League champions.
Zouma won’t feature again this season due to a serious knee injury, Remy is struggling with a groin strain while Terry is continuing to work on his fitness following a calf problem.
Hiddink says he’s hopeful Terry will be back in time to face Tottenham Hotspur next week but his captain will have to be back in training by Thursday is he wants to be in with a chance of facing their London rivals.
Chelsea head to the south coast looking to bounce back following last weekend’s hugely disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Manchester City which has left the Blues languishing down in tenth position in the table and 17 points off the top four.
Here is what Hiddink told reports at his press conference today:
