Paul Merson Offers His Prediction Ahead Of Chelsea’s Clash With Bournemouth

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has made his prediction ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues head to Dean Court looking to get back to winning ways after a hugely disappointing 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

The problem is that with the deposed Premier League champions languishing way down in tenth position in the table, they have little left to play for until the end of the season.

Interim boss Guus Hiddink has urged his players to use the remaining games to impress in-coming manager Antonio Conte but understandably the motivation just isn’t there for most of the players and it’s affecting results.

The good news this weekend is that Bournemouth also have little left to play for as they’ve already secured their top flight status for another year and Merson is tipping Chelsea to take a point back to West London following an entertaining game on the south coast.

Writing in his column for Sky Sports, he said:

Bournemouth v Chelsea – Saturday, 3pm

This is a hard game. Chelsea could have conceded six against Man City on Saturday, their season is over, they’ve got players going to the Euros and they can’t win a game. I’m not sure which way the game will go but I expect a game full of goals, with Bournemouth needing to bounce back from their defeat to Liverpool.

PAUL PREDICTS: 2-2
