Arsenal Team News: Wenger Confirms Huge Injury Boost + Oxlade-Chamberlain Update
Arsene Wenger has given a team news update ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Norwich and he’s confirmed a huge boost plus given the latest on Oxlade-Chamberlain
Arsenal will look to cement their position in the top four when they take on Norwich City at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.
Ahead of the game, Arsene Wenger has given Arsenal.com a team news and injury update and the boss was pleased to confirm that the entire squad has been able to take part in full training at London Colney this week for the first time this season.
Cazorla has been training with the first team for two weeks now after recovering from a knee ligament injury that he suffered against Norwich at Carrow Road back in November.
Wenger revealed that the Spaniard is now considered fit and available for selection but the boss hasn’t decided whether he’ll name him in the squad against the Canaries on Saturday.
Oxlade-Chamberlain was the final player to resume full training this week after recovering from his own knee injury that he sustained during the first leg of our Champions League last-16 clash with Barcelona in February.
However, as The Ox has only got one week’s full training under his belt, Wenger has suggested the Norwich game this weekend will come too soon for the young midfielder.
Arsene told the clubs website:
on the team news…
Everyone is training, so that’s new for us. That’s the first time this season.on Oxlade-Chamberlain…
It’s Oxlade-Chamberlain’s first week in full training now, so I don’t think I will select him this weekend.on Cazorla…
Santi might be in the squad this weekend, I don’t know yet. He is available. Everyone is available, but maybe Oxlade-Chamberlain is not competitive yet.
It’s a huge boost to have Cazorla available again as I think we’ve sorely missed his presence over the past five months. He’ll need to ease himself back in to action so I don’t think there’s any chance he’ll start this weekend but I certainly hope he can get some minutes off the bench if he’s named in the squad.
