Chelsea Team News: Hiddink Confirms Huge Double Injury Boost Ahead Of Spurs Game
Guus Hiddink has confirmed a huge double injury boost ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
Chelsea will look to put the final nail in Tottenham’s Premier League title dreams when they welcome their London rivals to Stamford Bridge on Monday night.
Ahead of the game, Guus Hiddink has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.
The Dutch coach was pleased to confirm a huge double injury boost with defenders John Terry and Gary Cahill set to return to the Chelsea squad on Monday night.
Terry has missed the last four games with a calf injury which he sustained against West Ham earlier this month having only recently recovered from a thigh problem.
However, the skipper returned to full training last week and is now back in contention to face Spurs – although Hiddink says they aren’t sure whether the centre-back will be able to come through the full ninety minutes just yet.
Terry could be joined in the squad by defensive partner Gary Cahill with Hiddink confirming he’ll return against Tottenham after he missed the 4-1 victory at Bournemouth last weekend due to illness.
It will be a huge boost for Chelsea to have both Terry and Cahill available again on Monday as the pair have been missed in recent weeks with Branislav Ivanovic and January signing Matt Miazga forced to play in the middle of defence.
However, the former Premier League champions will continue to be without Kurt Zouma as he’s expected to miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury while Loic Remy is also still out with a groin strain.
Guus thinks both Gary Cahill and John Terry will be part of his squad on Monday night. #CFC

Guus: 'It's good to have them back. They have experience. John may not be able to play the full 90 minutes, we will see.' #CFC
