Agent Confirms 17-Goal Attacker Could Leave Amid Arsenal & Man Utd Interest
Riyah Mahrez’s agent has claimed the attacker has a 50% chance of leaving Leicester City with Arsenal and Manchester United leading the race for his signature
The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal and Man Utd are boosted in their pursuit of Riyad Mahrez…
Riyah Mahrez’s agent has claimed the attacker has a fifty percent chance of leaving Leicester City this summer with Arsenal and Manchester United leading the race for his signature, according to the Express.
Mahrez has enjoyed a sensational season at the King Power Stadium with the winger scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists to help Leicester secure a shock Premier League title win this campaign.
The 25-year-old’s impressive form has not only seen him named as the PFA Player’s Player of the Year but he’s also attracting interest from some of England’s most powerful clubs with the Express claiming that Arsenal and Manchester United are among those keen on luring him away from the newly-crowned champions.
The duo have now been handed a major boost in their pursuit as the attackers agent, Kamel Bengougam, has confirmed that while Mahrez is content at Leicester he would have to consider a move if a ‘big team’ came calling.
Bengougam also confirmed there has been interest in his client from the UK and overseas and suggests that it’s 50-50 as to whether the player will move to a new club this summer.
The agent is quoted as saying by the Express:
“When you have been playing the way Riyad has this season it is bound to attract attention. He is very happy with Leicester and of course it has been a fantastic season,”
“They will play in the Champions League next year as well so he would be happy to stay.
“But at his age if the opportunity comes to play for a big team then we would have to think about it. I’d say it’s 50/50 at the moment whether he stays or goes.
“We have interest from the UK and overseas.”
Leicester are understandably desperate to keep hold of Mahrez as they prepare to play in the Champions League next season and are hoping to persuade him to sign a new contract extension.
Mahrez still has three years left to run on his current deal but Claudio Ranieri has already suggested he’ll sell any player who makes it clear they don’t want to stay, so the ball is very much in the winger’s court.
However, the Algerian international won’t get the chance to join a club like Arsenal or Man Utd very often and he’d be able to earn far more at the Emirates or Old Trafford than he will at Leicester, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was to push for a move this summer.

It’s not a good sign for Leicester that his agent is already discussing the possibility of a move in the media and this is sure to alert the likes of Arsenal and United, and I think Mahrez would be a superb signing for either club if they could pull it off this summer.
