Man Utd Hit By Huge Injury Blow Ahead Of West Ham Clash

Manchester United have been hit by a huge injury blow with Anthony Martial ruled out of their crucial trip to Upton Park to take on West Ham on Tuesday night, according to the Telegraph.
The French international forward was forced to miss Saturday’s 1-0 win over Norwich City at Carrow Road after pulling up in the pre-match warm-up with a hamstring injury.
Louis van Gaal admitted after the game that he was sweating over how serious the problem was and while it appears to be only a minor issue, it’s going to be enough to keep Martial out of the trip to East London.
The Telegraph claim that the 20-year-old has already been ruled out of the West Ham game and is also a doubt for the visit of Bournemouth to Old Trafford on the final day of the Premier League season.
The news will come as a major blow to United as they head to Upton Park needing a win to leapfrog Manchester City and put themselves in pole position to secure fourth place and qualification to the Champions League next season.
Martial is United’s leading scorer on 15 goals this season so Louis van Gaal will be desperate to have the forward back as soon as possible and the newspaper suggests that he’ll be checked regularly throughout this week to see if he’ll be able to face Bournemouth on Sunday.
However, while finishing fourth is crucial for United, I’m sure they won’t be taking any risks with Martial as they also have an FA Cup final against Crystal Palace on May 21st to worry about.
In Martial’s absence, Memphis Depay started in attack against Norwich on Saturday and the Dutch international will be hoping to retain his place against West Ham tomorrow night.
