Liverpool kicked off the new Premier League season in perfect style with a thrilling 4-3 win over Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon. Here are our player ratings for Jurgen Klopps men:
Mignolet 6.5/10 | Smart save to deny Walcott’s penalty but could do nothing for two of the goals. The Belgian may feel he could have done better for the Oxlade-Chamberlain strike though.
Clyne 6/10 | Brilliant play set up Coutinho’s second goal and was solid enough in defence.
Moreno 3/10 | Brutally exposed once again. Gave away a penalty and was well out of position for the Arsenal opener.
Klavan 6.5/10 | Lost Chambers for his goal but was otherwise solid on his Premier League debut.
Lovren 6/10 | Also partially at fault for the Chambers goal and could have done better for the Oxlade-Chamberlain strike.
Henderson 6.5/10 | Grew in to the game and was very good in the second half.
Wijnaldum 6/10 | Assisted Lallana goal and enjoyed a decent debut overall. Still not convinced he’s suited to playing in a midfield two though.
Lallana 7/10 | Scored a lovely goal and played his part as Liverpool raced in to a 4-1 lead early in the second half.
Mane 7.5/10 | Excellent competitive debut. Scored a stunning goal and was a threat all afternoon.
Coutinho 8.5/10 | Stunning free-kick was crucial as it put Liverpool on level terms at half-time. Well-taken second goal after the break.
Firmino 7/10 | Quiet in the first half but was far more involved after the break.
Subs:
Can 7/10 | On to tighten things up for Liverpool as Arsenal pressed for an equaliser.
