Man Utd Star Suffers Injury Concern On International Duty Ahead Of Man City Clash
Man Utd have suffered an injury scare just 10 days ahead of the Manchester derby after a key man was forced off while playing for his country last night.
Manchester United have suffered an injury scare just 10 days ahead of the Manchester derby after Henrikh Mkhitaryan was forced off while playing for Armenia on Wednesday night.
The 27-year-old captained his country during a friendly with the Czech Republic last night but went down in agony after colliding with defender Marek Suchy during the second half.
The former Borussia Dortmund man looked in some discomfort as he received treatment and eventually had to be substituted, with the attacker holding his chest as he limped off the pitch.
The news will be of concern to Jose Mourinho as United welcome rivals Manchester City to Old Trafford in just 10 days time so the Portuguese coach will be hoping the injury is nothing serious.
Mhitaryan is yet to start a competitive match since joining the Red Devils but he will certainly have put himself in the frame to make his first start after a superb substitute appearance during United’s 1-0 win at Hull last weekend.
The Armenian put in an excellent performance after coming off the bench as fellow substitute Marcus Rashford scored an injury-time winner to ensure Mourinho maintained his 100% start to the new season.
