La Liga Superstar Offers Update On Future Amid Reports Man Utd Are Lining-Up Bid
Antoine Griezmann has offered an update on his future amid reports that Manchester United are lining-up a big-money move for the attacker next summer
The summer transfer window is now closed for another year but it’s not time to look back on those deals that didn’t go through and those that are being lined-up for the future. Today, Man Utd are linked with Antoine Griezmann….
Antoine Griezmann has offered an update on his future at Atletico Madrid amid reports that Manchester United are lining-up a big-money move for the attacker next summer, according to the Mirror.
Griezmann has become one of the best attackers in world football since joining Atletico Madrid from Real Socieded in 2014 and scored 32 goals in all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side last season.
The 25-year-old carried that form in to this summers European Championships where he won Player of the Tournament after scoring six goals to help France in to the final where the hosts narrowly lost to Portugal.
Understandably the attacker has attracted plenty of interest in his services but appeared to commit his long-term future to Atletico after signing a new five-year contract back in June that saw his buy-out fee increase to around £86m.
However, that doesn’t appear to have put off United as the Mirror reported last week that the Red Devils are lining-up a move for the French superstar as Jose Mourinho sees the player as a long-term replacement for Wayne Rooney.
Griezmann has also been linked with Ligue 1 champions PSG and the attacker has now admitted that he would consider his future if Atletico boss Diego Simeone leaves the club any time soon.
Griezmann is quoted as saying by the Mirror:
“The only doubt would be if Simeone leaves for PSG or wherever,”
“I called him before extending my contract and he confirmed to me that he was staying.
“I can learn a lot from him. PSG are not my goal at the moment. I’m happy in Spain.”
No doubt there would be plenty of competition if Griezmann did decide he wanted to leave the Vicente Calderon in search of a new challenge but United are one of only a few clubs who could afford his transfer fee.

I think Griezmann would be a sensational signing for United if they could somehow lure him away from Atletico next summer and I’d love to see another one of the world’s best players plying their trade here in the Premier League.
