Sky Sports Pundit Offers His Prediction For Man Utd’s Game With Watford
Sky Sports News pundit Paul Merson has offered his predicted score ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Watford on Sunday afternoon.
Sky Sports News pundit Paul Merson has offered his predicted score ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Watford on Sunday afternoon.
Jose Mourinho will be demanding a response from his players after they slumped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Feyenoord in their Europa League group stage opener on Thursday night.
That result came just days after the Red Devils crashed to a 2-1 loss to bitter rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford so Mourinho will be desperate to get back to winning ways at Vicarage Road this weekend.
Watford started the new season slowly but picked up their first three points of the season with an impressive 4-2 comeback win over West Ham last weekend so they’ll be hoping to build on that victory with another positive result on Sunday.
That obviously won’t be easy against United but former England international Paul Merson is predicting goals in the game and he feels Watford will hold the Manchester giants to an entertaining 2-2 draw.
Writing in his column for Sky Sports, Merson said:
The win over West Ham was a big result for Watford, and not just because Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo got back on the goal trail.
Etienne Capoue has made a big change from the end of last season. They were getting predictable because it was almost like they didn’t have a chance when Deeney and Ighalo weren’t at it, but Capoue is giving them a little bit extra now.
Manchester United’s confidence will be knocked after losing in their own backyard against their arch enemy, who didn’t even have their best player. That was a major blow.
Watford are the league’s entertainers at the moment – there’s always goals when you go and watch them play.
PAUL PREDICTS: 2-2
We’ll have to wait and see whether Merson’s prediction proves accurate but if you think he’s got it wrong and fancy United to win at Vicarage road then you can get huge odds of 5/1 on Mourinho’s side taking home all three points–>
